This thing is great! It reminds me of a little Robot. Easy to use. Keeps my hands clean and it stays a it lot cleaner than a regular trash can.Attractive and fit a specific need where we wanted to place the trash in a corner that had a heating vent on the floor. This works perfectly and the sensor is actually really useful and welcome and still working after several months. The button is great for when you need to access the trash for several minutes and don't want to keep waving your hand over the sensor. The batteries do need to be changed about every two months so I stock up on dollar store AA batteriesI love it wish it was a little bigger but I just take the trash out more so no big deal. The gears could be stronger so when you hit the lid it won't collapse to a closed position. Pro tip --- pretend like you're peeing into the trash can and it will stay open without needing to press the button.Very nice design, modern yet a nod to the past with the legs. She open and close mechanism works perfectly. A good buy.I'm keeping this because I like it, but it fills pretty fast because it's not a 13 gallon bin.I ended up buying the trashcan because it said that the 8 gallon on the box was a typo and that it is a 12 gallon trashcan but after I received it and measure the inner compartment that actually holds the trash it is 8.82 gallons. I believe the 12 gallons is if you use the outer measurements. The inner container only goes up to the beginning of the removable top which is marked by a line that goes around the can. I don’t appreciate being taken for granted and for that reason I will be returning the can. Overall it is cute and it seems like a nice can but I would not have bought it if the the real measurements were posted.Product advertised as a 12 gallon can which doesn't make sense since standard kitchen bag is 13. But after receiving product , clearly labled all over box as a 8 gallon container.
